To qualify as a fully vaccinated traveller to Canada, you must:
- have received at least 2 doses of a Government of Canada-accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a mix of 2 accepted vaccines
- or at least 1 dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine
- have received your second dose at least 14 full days prior to the day you enter Canada
- Example: if your second dose was anytime on Thursday July 1, then Friday July 16 would be the first day that you meet the 14 day condition
- upload your proof of vaccination in ArriveCAN
- have no signs or symptoms of COVID-19
- meet pre-entry testing and all other requirements
- upload your proof of vaccination in ArriveCAN
- have ArriveCAN receipt with letter V or I beside your name
- meet all other entry requirements (for example, pre-entry test result)

- Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty, tozinameran, BNT162b2)
- Moderna (Spikevax, mRNA-1273)
- AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria, COVISHIELD, ChAdOx1-S, AZD1222)
- Janssen/Johnson & Johnson (Ad26.COV2.S)
As of November 30, 2021, the following COVID-19 vaccines authorized by the World Health Organization (WHO) will be accepted by the Government of Canada for travel:
- Bharat Biotech (Covaxin, BBV152 A, B, C)
- Sinopharm BIBP (BBIBP-CorV)
- Sinovac (CoronaVac, PiCoVacc)
To qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler, you must have received at least 2 doses of an accepted vaccine or a mix of 2 accepted vaccines, or at least 1 dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine, at least 14 full days prior to the day you travel.
If your proof of vaccination is not in English or French
If your proof of vaccination is not in English or French, you need a certified translation in English or French.
Your certified translation must include the stamp or membership number of a professional translation association.
Keep both the original proof of vaccination and the certified translation with you while you travel.
If your proof of vaccination doesn’t meet all of the requirements, it will be considered invalid. You will not qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler.

The list of accepted vaccines may expand in the future.
Partial vaccination
You must have received at least 2 doses of Government of Canada-accepted COVID-19 vaccine, at least 1 dose of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine, or a mix of 2 accepted vaccines to qualify as a fully vaccinated traveler and be allowed to enter Canada.
Recovered from COVID-19 with only one dose
If you’ve recovered from COVID-19, you still need a full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine or a mix of 2 accepted vaccines.
If you’ve only had one dose of an accepted vaccine other than Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), you don’t qualify for the fully vaccinated traveler exemption.
